Context:
The player character is an oblivious being without physical body who needs to search for its identity. Driven by the instinctive desire of becoming a human being, it needs to firstly go through the darkness and suffer the torment of the deadly sins. "Sloth" is the first "child world" that player needs to explore. In this world, the player character can either move with an extremely slow speed or by hooking to the moving objects when those things are close to the player (punishments in "sloth").
Gameplay:
Move: "WASD"
Jump: "Space"
Hook: "Left Click"
Cancel: "Right Click"
There are some hints for other game controls waiting for players to find out.
About the game:
"Sloth" is a two-layer brain-shaped maze. Once you get the mini-map, you will find that the entrance leading to the second layer is located in Brodmann area 25. In addition to laziness, sloth can also refer to a negative attitude. According to the research, BA25 has been implicated as playing an important role in major depression. (hint: the moving objects are the simulation of neurotransmitters.)
When you play the game, you will notice those falling objects which imply the instability of the world.
Poem:
I wrote a short poem for the theme, my friend and cooperator Yue Chen helped me polish and translate it.
How I envy you, you oblivious being
The precious you are after, you will find, in this land of the condemned
Once you've obtained all, my friend, you would be a creature as pathetic as I am
Lurking in the murky swamp of inevitable agony
Salvation is not an option for you, love, you shall never be exempted
Feedbacks:
I got some good feedbacks when testing the game.
1. As a First-Person game, the camera view was not so good that may lose the playability.
2. Some of the moving objects were difficult to be hooked.
3. The hints in the game were not easy to be found for players.
4. Bugs...
