Game Log 2 - Private Test

Before this second test, I changed some rules for the game. As my idea was related to alchemy, I'd like to increase the proportion of "exchange" part. Thus, the goal was changed from collecting at least 3 green tokens to at least 2 red tokens, which means the players need to exchange their green tokens for red tokens(2 green tokens == 1 red token). What's more, in order to simulate the transformation between compounds and elements, I also added a decomposition process so that the players can also exchange their tokens for cards.
I invited my friends to be the testers for my paper prototype. During the play session, I found some problems that I didn't think about. One negligence is that I didn't consider what the players should do when they have no cards at hand without enough tokens. Thus, I added another rule "the player needs to roll the dice to decide how many cards they should draw when there is no card in hand."

P.s. An interesting thing is that while players are playing games, they hardly think about the meaning (theme) of the game. So the mechanism of the game is the key to affect the playability and player experience. However, after they play the game, they'll take a deep look for the game. A good concept or story will give players more than just instant pleasure, that's also the reason why some games can be regarded as artworks.
